California Woolsey & Camp Wildfires Disaster Relief Efforts
The Woolsey and Camp Fires in California have devastated communities and our hearts go out to the people and pets affected by these wildfires. The Camp Fire has been labeled the deadliest in California history, forcing more than 50,000 people to flee. It has destroyed thousands of homes and hundreds of thousands of acres. The Woolsey Fire has destroyed nearly a hundred thousand acres and hundreds of buildings.
To provide immediate assistance to the ongoing rescue efforts, Purina has partnered with GreaterGood.org to distribute a monetary donation of $10,000. These funds will also provide much-needed supplies to the communities affected by the California wildfires.
Because these wildfires are still ongoing, we are monitoring the situation closely. We are prepared to send additional pet food and litter to organizations throughout California caring for displaced animals.
We’re Dedicated to Helping People & Pets in Need
Throughout 2018, Purina has made monetary and supply donations to assist victims of natural disasters. We donated $25,000 to aid in the California wildfire disaster relief efforts earlier in the year.
Another $25,000 and 12,000 pounds of pet food and litter went to support the victims of Hurricane Florence and 25,000 pounds of pet food and litter went to Hurricane Michael disaster relief.
In 2017, we donated $60,000 to support the disaster relief efforts following Hurricanes Maria, Harvey and Irma, in addition to more than 350,000 pounds of pet food and litter.
